There are thousands of niches inside the entertainment news industry that a webmaster could target. For instance look at the recent break through of Perez Hilton.

Perez Hilton started a entertainment news blog several years ago that made comments about news in the celebrity world. It is now one the the highest traffic entertainment news websites on the Internet. Eonline is just another example of a website that has a massive following and it is nothing more than a celebrity entertainment news website.

If I was entering the entertainment news market right now I would target specific individuals and not the entire niche. For instance I would create several websites and each one would target a specific celebrity. For instance you could have a website about Paris Hilton and another about Nichole Richie. There is more then enough entertainment news on both of them to dig up and write about.

Once you start to gain a following aka readers to your website you can sell advertising space as a source of revenue from your entertainment news website. Who knows maybe you will even end up with your own MTV series like Perez Hilton. Don't focus on the entire entertainment news market. Break it down and target specific niches within the market so you can become an authority.
