Motion pictures or movies are perhaps the most popular form of entertainment for people around the world. Today, hundreds or movies are being made in different languages, in different countries from around the world. From being only a form of art to becoming a billion dollar industry, movies have come a long way.
In the beginning, movies had very little to offer in terms of visual and audio experiences. All that the audience got to see were moving images on screen, with actors and actresses uttering dialogues. But today, movies are a whole lot different. Using the best and the latest technology like DTS and Dolby sound systems, high-definition and 3D visual effects, audience can enjoy great quality sound effects along with the visuals.
Movies today can be categorized into different genres like drama, musicals, comedy, science-fiction, horror, thriller, action and adventure. While the action and adventure category revolves around action heroes and their heroism, thrillers are filled with suspense and are meant to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
Horror movies are also like thrillers, except that they deal with the supernatural like ghosts, demons etc. Science fiction is more or less fantasy based and revolves around alternate worlds, aliens and the like.
Comedy, romantic and family movies are usually filled with the feel good factor and can be watched by a diverse audience. Animation movies and children's films are usually targeted at the younger audience, although adults seem to enjoy them all the same.
