Science can be easily defined as a body of knowledge that is rationalized and organized to help people understand the universe around them.
Science can also be described as a thrilling experience of discovering and understanding the world. It is constantly being improved upon everyday to unravel the mysteries of the universe and to find new ways of improving lives.
The subject of science is very broad and can be divided into several branches. Science is divided into two major groups: natural science and social science. Natural science can be further divided into physical and life science that cover a host of different subjects like physics, chemistry, astronomy, and biology.
Social sciences are a study of human behavior, society and humanity in general. Different branches under social sciences include anthropology, economics, business and communication, archaeology, education, linguistics, history, psychology and law.
Science also extends to the world of numbers and technology with formal sciences. Including branches like logical thinking, computer science, statistics, mathematics, information theory, and other theoretical sciences, formal science is often used theoretically to construct scientific models for practical purposes.
When all the scientific knowledge is applied in a physical space, it is called applied science. Applied sciences cover several career fields in the modern age, including medicine, computer sciences, research, applied physics and applied mathematics. |
