Stumbleupon Traffic Secrets Part 1

By now just about everyone has heard of Stumbleupon and if you have not well, you are out of the loop!

The quick and dirty explanation of Stumbleupon
Stumbleupon is a download able application that attaches to your Internet browser as a toolbar. There is a button on the toolbar that acts as your "stuble" button. What it does is take you to a random website based on your preferences that you used when you installed the toolbar.

How to use Stumbleupon to drive massive traffic to your website.
The first thing you need to do is use the toolbar. The more active you are in the "Stumbleupon" community the more you are trusted by Stumbleupon. Which in turn will lead to Stumbleupon sending more traffic to your websites.

So how do you stay active, it's easy...

1. Submit New Sites - Click on the Stumbleupon button and when you land on a new site click the thumbs up button. If the site has already been reviewed you are done here. If not fill out the form and be descriptive about the website. Other people will be reading this and could click on your profile to check out your websites.

2. Suggest Topics - If you find a website that does not fit into any categories listed request a new one. Click Menu > Suggest New Topic.

3. Make Friends - Making friends will build your reputation and trust as an active Stumbleupon user.

4. Report Spam - If you find a website that has been added to the wrong category (which happens ofter) such as adult sites in "funny" report them as spam. Click on Menu > Spam

The most important part of staying active is stumbling and giving the thumb up or down for websites you like and dislike. This shows the Stumbleupon bots that you are adding value to the community and they will reward you by sending you traffic.

In this article I will tell you about a few tips and tricks to increase web site traffic.

There are quite a few ways to quickly increase web site traffic for your websites. I will first list the most common know ways to increase web site traffic.

1. adwords or some other type of PPC (pay per click).

2. This next method works very well as long as your website has some useful and unique content, social bookmarking. You can find a list the most popular social bookmarking sites on this social bookmark page.

3. This is another way to increase web site traffic as long as website has original unique content. Promote your website through social networking websites such as Myspace, Squidoo and Digg.

4. Another great way to increase your web site traffic is through forum posting. You can talk about your website if it fits into the post topic. You can also create a signature with a link to your website which is attached to the bottom of every post you make.

5. Find blog's that are are relevant to your websites subject and make informative blog post that include a link to your website. You can read more on how to find blogs that relate to your subject in this article.

6. You should also create a blog and make post to it on a regular basis. Claiming your blog at technorati and pinging your blog after every post will increase web site traffic.

7. Stumbling your website is another great way to give an almost instant traffic boost to your website. In my next post I will go into specific details on how to maximize stumbleupon for sending huge amounts of traffic to your website.

8. Article marketing is a great way to not only increase your website traffic but also increase your backlinks at the same time! There are several popular article marketing websites Articlemarketer and Isnsare.

There is article marketing software out they but most of it sucks to tell you the truth.

9. You Tube and Google Video are two more great websites if used correct can start a viral traffic flood. If you can create a unique, funny or informative video it can turn into a traffic churning machine.

10. Online classified websites such as USfreeads for a small fee can generate decent traffic and help your serps.

These are just a few methods that can be utilized to increase web site traffic in a realitvly short amount of time.
