Google New Search Engine Results

Looks like Google is considering implementing a new atho. change. As most of you can see the search results have had a cosmetic face lift and some of the search results are showing changes.

Google may start returning search results based on images, audio, pics, video news and other factors that in the past did not have an affect on the results.

I have already seen examples of this happening for certain keywords but it looks like a testing phase right now.

I don't see this becoming a permanent change but if it does it means SEO is changing completely. This may be good news for some and horrible news for others. If you are able to roll with the punches and adapt you will greatly benefit from this change if they do roll it out for good.

The way it looks like it will work is, you have your top 10 search results. The current results are retrieved based on website content. Now with the new changes maybe 5 of the results will be returned because of content and the other 5 from images, video, audio and so on.

So what this really means is that unless you can adapt your website to the new changes you will have only half the chance of landing a top 5 position as you did before.

Some webmasters could really begin to take a finical beating if they loose their top rankings.

We will see how this plays out.

Google Grey Bar

Why is everyone freaking out over their "Google Grey Bar"? You know the bar, the one that says "No PageRank Information Available".

Now as far as I can tell all this means is that your page has not been reviewed by Google for it's PageRank.

I have a few of my own personal websites that had new pages go live a few weeks before the update and they received the grey bar. I am not sweating it at all as I am sure Google will update them eventually.

As long as you are not getting the banned grey bar you don't have anything to worry about. Just keep adding quality content and building backlinks, this will work it's self out with time.

If you have proof that their is something else going on by all means let's hear about it.
